Ayatul Kursi

BISM IL-LAAHIR-RAH’MAN IR-RAH’EEM

In the Name of God, the All-Merciful, the Most Compassionate.

ALLAAHO LAA ELAAHA ILLAA HOWA, AL-HAYYUL QAYYOOMO,Allah

—there is no god except Him—is the Living One,the All-sustainer.

LAA TAAKHOZOHU SENATUWN WALAA NAWMUN,

Neither drowsiness befalls Him nor sleep.

LAHU MAA FIS SAMAAWAATE WA MAA FIL ARZE,

To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth.

MAN ZAL LAZE YASH-FA-O’ I’NDAHU ILLAA BE-IZNEHI,

Who is it that may intercede with Him except with His permission?

YA’LAMO MAA BAYNA AYDEEHIM WA MAA KHALFAHUM,

He knows what is before them and what is behind them,

WA LAA YOHEETOONA BE SHAYIM MIN I’LMEHI ILLAA BEMAA SHAAA-A,

and they do not comprehend anything of His knowledge except what He wishes.

WASE-A’ KURSIYYOHUS SAMAAWAATE WAL ARZA,

His seat embraces the heavens and the earth and He is not wearied by their preservation,

WA LAA YA-OODOHU HIFZOHOMAA,

and He is the All-exalted,

WA HOWAL A’LIYYUL A’ZEEMO.

the All-supreme.

LAA IKRAAHA FID DEENE,

There is no compulsion in religion:

QAD TABAYYANAR RUSHDO MENAL GHAYYE,

rectitude has become distinct from error.

FAMAYN YAKFUR BIT-TAAGHOOTE WA YOO-MIM BILLAAHE FAQADIS TAMSAKA BIL-U’RWATIL WUSQAA,

So one who disavows fake deities and has faith in Allah has held fast to the firmest handle

LANFESAAMA LAHAA,

for which there is no breaking;

WALLAAHO SAMEE-U’N A’LEEMUN.

and Allah is all-hearing, all-knowing.

ALLAAHO WALIYYUL LAZEENA AAMANOO,

Allah is the wali of the faithful:

YUKHREJOHUM MENAZ ZOLOMAATE ELAN NOORE,

He brings them out of darkness into light.

WALLAZEENA KAFAROO AWLEYAAA-O-HOMUT TAAGHOOTO YUKHREJOONAHUM MENAN NOORE ELAZ ZOLOMAATE,

As for the faithless, their awliya are the fake deities, who drive them out of light into darkness.

OOLAA-EKA ASHAABUN NAARE,

They shall be the inmates of the Fire,

HUM FEEHAA KHAALEDOON.

and they will remain in it [forever].
